May in Armenia is one of the most beautiful months, when nature evokes and everything is in blossom. At will of destiny, all decisive battles, which our nation faced with honor, occurred in this month, and that is why May in Armenia is called month of victories. In the period of independence to the traditional great celebration (Victory day and Worker’s Day) Day of Erkrap – 8th of May, Day of Liberation of Shushi – 9th of May and the holiday, dedicated to the first republic of Armenia Republic Day – 28th of May were added.
May is a wonderful time to visit Armenia, when you can combine participation in official celebrations with excursions; passable roads and beauty of nature will be favorable for hiking as well. The offered package includes one-day tour with overnight in Yerevan and regional tours with overnight in Goris. Within the tours we will visit the most popular and favorite routes, and of course, places, concerning May holidays, such as Sardarapat Museum. The culmination of the tour is visiting Tatev Monastery in Syunik region with the longest cable way in the world – Wings of Tatev.
Taking into consideration public holidays, allocated by the government, it is better to order the tour on guaranteed departyres dates for groups. If you are relatively free of public holidays, the tour can be changed and meet your requirements.
Within the scope of this tour we intend to visit the main wine-making regions of Armenia – the Vayots Dzor region, Yerevan, Armavir region and the more northern region of Tavush. Every region has its special wines and interesting traditions of wine-making and grape vine culture. Besides wine degustation, we will also taste the corresponding local dishes, visit numerous cultural and historical places and simply enjoy the magnificent nature of Armenia.

Arrival at Zvartnots airport and transfer to the hotel in Yerevan. 10:00 Visit to the ruins of Zvartnots, the greatest temple of early medieval Armenian architecture, a UNESCO world heritage site. 11:00 Trip to Echmiadzin, the spiritual center of Armenian apostolic church and the residence of catholicos of all Armenians; Treasury of Echmiadzin. 14:00. Lunch at Hazarashen restaurant near Sardarapat memorial. 15:30 Sardarapat memorial and ethnographical museum 18:00 Return to the hotel.* Free evening. 19:00 Welcome dinner at Yerevan Tavern (Teryan str.), a restaurant, representing folk program. |
Day 2 |
Breakfast at the hotel. 08:30 Check-out from the hotel and departure for tour. 09:30 Khor Virap Monastery, where one of the most marvelous views of Mount Ararat is opening from. 10:00 Then we are heading for the South of Armenia, to Noravank Monastery, built in 13th century. Not far away is the Birds Cave, where the oldest leather shoe and winery were found. Up today excavations are held in the Birds Cave, but it is also possible to get there and see the works. Local wine tasting in Areni wine factory. 13:30 Lunch at Lchak restaurant. 15:30 Visit to Tatev Monastery in Halidzor settlement, on the longest cable way in the world, «Wings of Tatev». 17:30. Old Khndzoresk 19:30. Check-in at the hotel in Goris. 20:00 Dinner at the hotel. |

Breakfast at the hotel. 09:00 Departure for tour. 10:00 Karahunj – Zorats Karer, the oldest observatory, Armenian Stonehenge. 12:00 Vardenyats(Selim) caravanserai, located on the oldest Great Silk Road, linking Western Asia with Mediterranean. 13:00. Noratus, the largest cemetery of khachkars(cross-stones) in the territory of Armenia. 14:00. Lunch at a waterside restaurant. 15:00. Tour to Sevan Lake, the largest lake in Caucasus. We will visit Sevanavank monastery on North-Eastern coast. 17:00. Rest and dinner in Tsaghkunk boutique restaurant. 21:00 Transfer yo the Tsaghkadzor and check-in at the hotel. |

Breakfast at the hotel. 09:00 Departure for tour. 10:30 Photo stop at Charents Arch for the wonderful view of Mount Ararat. 11:20 Tour to rocky Monastery Geghard – fantastic example of Armenian medieval architecture (12-13 cc), a UNESCO World Heritage site. 12:30 Tour to Garni temple, the only monument in the territory of Armenia, dating back to the period of paganism and Hellenism. 14:00 Lunch in Garni settlement, at a rural house; participation in Armenian bread “lavash” baking; live performance of Duduk. 17:00 Check-in at a hotel in Yerevan; rest time. * Free evening. |

Breakfast at the hotel. 10:00 Sightseeing tour in Yerevan: statue of David of Sasun; Victory Park and Mother Armenia monument, where the amazing view of the whole city is opening from; Cascade architectural complex; Gafeschyan modern art museum; Opera House; walking tour from Northern Avenue to Republic Square. 12:30 History Museum of Armenia. 14:00 Lunch at Caucasus restaurant. 15:30.
