Day 1

Arrival in Yerevan. Meeting at the airport, hotel accommodation.

Sightseeing tour in Yerevan. Welcome dinner with delicious Armenian dishes and excellent wines.

Overnight in Yerevan.

 

Day 2

Yerevan. Vernissage.  City Тour. Matenadaran. National Picture Gallery (optional)

Breakfast in the hotel. After breakfast, the guide awaits you in the lobby of the hotel. It’s time to reveal the city older than Rome – Yerevan.

Visit to Vernissage souvenir market.

Lunch

Visit to the Matenadaran

Visit to the“Megerian Carpets” company in Yerevan, which is the leading producer of carpets in Armenia.

Dinner in “Megeryan carpets”: In “Megerian Carpets” you can enjoy a master class from the chef and taste the Ararat Tapakadish with meat and dried fruits. Biblical mountain Ararat is used in the names of many exquisite Armenian dishes, some of which resemble the shape of the mountain itself.

Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 3

Zvatrnots, Etchmiadzin, Museum of History(optional)

Breakfast in the hotel.

Transfer to the Holy See ofEtchmiadzin.

Transfer to Zvartnots Cathedral – an ancient temple of early medieval Armenian architecture. ZvartnotsCathedralmeans “celestial angels”.

Museum of History. The National History Museum is housed in a truly magnificent building right in the heart of Yerevan, Republic Square. It has an incredible collection of ancient artefacts from all over Armenia.

Visit to the Yerevan Brandy Factory. Armenian cognac is a legend that embodies the spirit of Armenia, its cultural and historical heritage and the skill of Armenian craftsmen. They say that Sir Winston Churchill drank a bottle of strong 50-degree Armenian cognacevery day!

Day 4

Garni, Geghard,Parajanov museum

Breakfast in the hotel.

Visit to the monastery complex Geghard.

Geghard is also famous for its sweet gata and a wide variety of sweets that the villagers offer at the foot of the Geghard monastery and it’s simply impossible to refuse them.

Visit tothe pagantemple of the Sun and the Fortress of Garni. Garni is the only fully restored architectural monument of the pagan and Hellenistic period in Armenia.

 Lunch in Garni/Gechard.

There is no tour in Armenia without Armenian lavash. It’s time to try Armenian lavash, to participate in the process of baking lavash in tonir, to feel the unique smell of freshly baked bread, or to cook shish kebab and barbeque in tonir.

Return to Yerevan. Shopping in Yerevan

Visit to Parajanov Museum

Day 5

APRIL 24. Tsitsernakaberd. Khor Virap, Noravank, ZoratsKarer, Goris.

Visit to the Tsitsernakaberd Genocide Memorial, Genocide Museum.

12.00Lunch in Yerevan

Transfer to Khor Virap monastery (in Armenian “deep hole”). Khor Virap is an eternal symbol of Armenia. It is located less than a kilometer from Turkish border. From the monastery of Khor Virap opens the best view of the biblical mountain Ararat.

Visit to Areni Cave. One of the most valuable findsin Areni Cave-1 is the oldest winery, which shows the existence of wine and winemaking in Armenia 6000 years ago.

Transfer to the monastery of Noravank.

Dinner

Transfer to ZoratsKarer (Armenian Stonehenge/Karahunge). Not far from the city of Sisian, on the mountain plateau at an altitude of 1770 meters, there are 222 huge solid stone monoliths, from 1.5 to 2.8 meters in height, weighing from 1.5 to 8.5 tons with smooth through holes. These stones are called “ZoratsKarer”, which in Armenian means “stone army/soldiers”, another name is Karahunge (“singing/speaking stones”).

Day 6

Tatev Monastery, Khndzoresk, Artsakh,Stepanakert

Transfer to TatevMonastery by the longest ropeway in the world.

Shushi, Gandzasar, Stepanakert.

Transfer to high-mountainous lake Sevan, Sevanavank. The younger sister of Lake Van in Western Armenia,Lake Sevan “keeps” the Legend of Akhtamar, a tragic love story.
On the way to Lake Sevan, in Western Armenia, Armenians – true romantics – built a statue of Princess Tamar, holding a lantern for her true love.

Transfer to Dilijan –A small Switzerland in Armenia.

The city is known for its unusual nature, mineral springs and clean, mountain air.

Night in Gyumri, the second largest town in Armenia.

Day 9

Gyumri, Kars.

Breakfast in Gyumri. City tour.

Crossing Armenian-Georgian Border.

Arrival in Kars. Dinner.

Day 10

Kars, Ani, Igdir, Bayazed, Berkri Waterfall, Van.

Breakfast in Kars. City tour.

Transfer to Ani, one of the capital cities of historical Armenia. Medieval capital Ani was once called the “City of 1001 Churches”. The city was located on the Great Silk Road and attracted many travelers. Ani was a cultural, religious and trade center of the region, standing on the crossroads of Europe and Asia.

Transfer to Igdir, Bayazed.

Lunch.

Tour in Igdir.City tour in Bayazed, visit to the Fortress of Daroink. Stop at the Waterfall of Berkri.

Arrival in Van. Dinner.

Day 11

Van, Akhtamar Island, Mush.

Breakfast in the hotel.

City tour in Van. Visit to the ancient Urartian Fortress of Van/Tushpa. Visit to the unique Van cats’ farm. Van cat is unique for its white color,its blue, yellow or odd eyes and its swimming habits.Visit to Lake Van where we take a boat to Akhtamar Island, to SourbKhach Cathedral (10th century), a masterpiece of Armenian architecturewith its magnificent Biblical relieves and frescoes.

Lunch at Akhtamar restaurant where we will taste ‘VanaTarekh’ fish.

Transfer to Moush. Dinner.

Day 12

Moush, Old town of Moush, St. Marine church, SouloukhBridge, Diarbekir, Mount Nemrut, Adyaman.

Breakfast in the hotel.

City tour in Old town of Moush. Visit to the legendary Apostles Monastery of Moush(“MshoAraqelots”) founded by St. Gregory the Illuminator in the 4th century on the relics of three Apostles – Peter, Paul and Andrew,which he received from Rome. Visit to St. Marine՛ Armenian church. Drive across the Eastern Euphrates bythe medieval bridge Murat/ Souloukh.

Lunch

Tour in Diyarbekir. St. Kirakos church.

Drive up a majestic volcanic Mount Nemrut.From there we can admire wonderful views of Nemrut crater lake on the one side and Lake Van on the other.“The Army of Nimrod” and“Tears of Semiramis”. Pantheon ofArmenian Pagan Gods – Anahit, Astghik, Aramazd, Vahagn, Mihr and others.

The Euphrates, the Bingol Mountains, Erzerum, Sanasaryan school, tour in Erzerum, Basen Fortress and Shepherd’s bridge across the river Araks.

Overnight in Sarikamish.
