Yesterday I lost my arm and now I got it.
Exclusive surgery led by surgeon Artavazd Sahakyan.
An exclusive surgery was performed at the Heratsi No. 1 hospital complex. Under the supervision of plastic surgeon Artavazd Sahakyan, anesthesiologist-reanimatologists, traumatologists and microsurgists team rescued 31-year-old Zhora Khachatryan’s arm after an operation lasting 7.5 hours, which remained under machine tool while working at the stone workshop. Artavazd Sahakyan told Panorama.am that the incident took place on September 4, around 4:30 pm.
Zhora was immediately taken from Talin to Yerevan. According to his words, the ambulance team worked quite expeditiously.
Artavazd Sahakyan told that after the young man was taken to the hospital, the resuscitation works started immediately, and one group of doctors worked on the arm on the underside, and the other one on the shoulder, in order to prevent the loss of time. After 2.5 hours, blood circulation has been restored.
“The surgery was successful; the patient’s condition measures up to his traumatic and postoperative surgery, since any amputation causes stress, shock, and great loss of blood. In this case you have to risk, calculate correctly and need to know whether the result will be good or not.
I think we did the right thing here, “said the microsurgeon and added: “The young man is quite optimistic, and even in those difficult times he behaved like a strong man. It is very important that the patient believes in doctor and is being optimistic. “
